Deb Turski Makes Gift in Her Will to Support the Lab Beyond Her Lifetime

Photo of Deb TurskiWhen Deb Turski enrolled in Bird Academy courses to enhance her birding skills, she was impressed with the Cornell Lab experts who are passionate about lifelong learning and sharing their knowledge of birds with others. That experience, combined with her participation in citizen science projects such as eBird and Project FeederWatch, made apparent the Lab’s commitment to engaging the public in bird study and conservation.

In addition to her annual membership gifts, Deb felt moved to do more to support the good work she experienced. She arranged a bequest in her will that will support the Cornell Lab beyond her lifetime. It was a simple process, and Deb feels great about her commitment.

“It was important to me to include the Cornell Lab in my estate plan, and I believe it would be for others, too,” Deb says. “By supporting the Lab, I am helping the birds I love—as the Lab’s research informs efforts to save habitat and species while its broad education and citizen science initiatives guarantee that there will be many others who will love and care for birds and habitat into the future.”
