A Blended Gift Allows Joyce Levy and Phyllis Rosenberg to Support the Cornell Lab Now and in the Future

When we first began watching birds, we were most interested in their behavior and wanted to learn more. We became curious about why birds are declining and what we could do to help. That led us to the Cornell Lab. The more involved we became, we realized how effective the Lab’s combination of academic research and conservation action really is. It’s what we feel is most needed to make a difference for birds and nature. 

So, naturally, supporting the Cornell Lab is one way we can make a difference ourselves. We decided to establish an endowment that supports the Lab’s efforts to turn science into action through a blended gift. We made a gift to establish the fund combined with a bequest in our estate plan that will increase the size of the endowment in the future. This allows us to see the impact of our gift now and to support programs that we know will evolve over time. An estate gift that will support the Lab in perpetuity is a way of always being there to be a contributor.

Creating a legacy through a gift in your estate plan says something about who you are and what you value. Our legacy gift is our contribution to making a better world for birds and all of us that depend on a healthy planet.
